Coach Poynter
Coach Poynter is the Wills Point ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.
Coach Poynter comes to Wills Point from Denton HS. Before Denton, he had coaching stops in Sanger, Lewisville, Flower Mound Marcus and Lovejoy. Before Lovejoy, he was the Offensive Line Coach at Jackson State University in Jackson, MS. He was a graduate assistant at his alma mater SMU for the football team, where he helped the Mustangs secure a bowl championship (2012 Hawaii Bowl). Before SMU, he coached at Mansfield Legacy, Frisco Lone Star and Irving MacArthur.
Coach Poynter is married to his wife, Emily and they have three kids.
He loves being outside and loves sports. Coach Poynter is also heavily involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Coaches Outreach.
