George Wilcoxson, President- Place 4

George Wilcoxson was elected to the School Board in 2016. He was born and raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1977. He attended Trinity Valley Community College and obtained his Associate of Applied Science degree in 1979. George has been a member of the Dallas Fire Department for almost 40 years, is a Master Firefighter, and holds numerous certifications, including HazMat. He is married to Colleen (Reaume) and has three sons, Cole, the oldest and a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M, Hunter, and stepson Parker Reaume, who graduated from Wills Point High School. George is an active member of the Wills Point community and serves through numerous volunteer efforts. Mr. Wilcoxson is serving his third term on the WPISD Board of Trustees.

Jason Groom, Vice President- Place 2

Jason Groom was elected to the board in May of 2018.  Jason is a 1995 graduate of Wills Point High School; a life-long resident, Jason attended all his school years in Wills Point. Mr. Groom serves as the Police Chief for Edgewood ISD. Prior to this position, Jason served as a firefighter/paramedic and was a member of the Dallas Police Department. Mr. Groom is married to Hollie Groom, and they have three girls; Maddie, Maggie, and Josie.  Hollie also serves the district in her role as the Principal of Woods Intermediate School.  The Groom family is very active in their church, and you can see them at many community events. Mr. Groom is in his first term as a WPISD Board Trustee.

Russell Hiler, Secretary- Place 6

Russell Hiler was elected to the school board in 2016. Russell Hiler has been a resident of Wills Point, Texas since 1977. He graduated high school from Wills Point in 1986 and graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point, along with his wife and two girls. His wife, Tammy, is a 1st Grade Teacher at the Wills Point Primary School. Hiler's two daughters, Claire and Maddie, both attend Wills Point high school. Mr. Hiler is an independent sales representative that sells to sporting good stores and organizations that focus on apparel and equipment at the high school and junior high levels. Mr. Hiler is now serving his second term as Secretary of the Board of Trustees.

Phillip McDonald, Trustee- Place 3

Phillip McDonald was elected to the school board in May 2018. He was born in Pleasant Grove, and graduated from Skyline High School in 1989. Mr. McDonald was lucky enough to meet and marry Nancy Eyers McDonald in 1998. The couple moved to Wills Point in 2001, and have four children that have attended or now are attending WPISD schools. Mr. McDonald is a career firefighter, employed with Garland Fire Department for the past 18 years. He and his family attend Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point where his wife serves as the church secretary. Mr. McDonald is in his first term as a WPISD Board of Trustee Member.

Debbie Deen, Trustee- Place 1

Debbie Deen was appointed to the school board in June 2022. Mrs. Deen married Bobby and moved to Wills Point in 1986. Mrs. Deen is a retired educator of 32 years, serving 23 years in Wills Point ISD, and retiring in 2016 as the Principal of Wills Point Primary School. Mrs. Deen has two children, Taylor, a 2009 graduate of WPISD, and Zach, a 2013 graduate of WPISD. She is a member of New Release Baptist Church and past President of the Wills Point Education Foundation, where she remains an active member in serving her community. Mrs. Deen is in her first term as a WPISD Board of Member Trustee.

Jesse D Everett, Trustee- Place 5

Jesse Dean Everett was elected to the school board in May 2022.  Mr. Everett, a lifelong resident of Wills Point, Texas, graduated from Wills Point High School in 2003. He is married to Brittany Everette and has a son, Jesse, and a daughter, Jolie, who attends Woods Intermediate School.  Mr. Evertte is a Stonepointe Church member who regularly attends and serves his church family. He owns his own construction company, Everett Unlimited, providing services for excavation and land clearing. Mr. Everette is serving his first term as a Wills Point ISD Board of Trustee Member.

Jim Lamb, Trustee- Place 7

Jim Lamb was elected to the school board in 2017. He was born in Purcell, Oklahoma, and graduated from Purcell High School in 1970. While attending Oklahoma State University, he met his wife, Barbara Kay Maloney Lamb, and they were married in January of 1972. They have two children, Mike Lamb, who is the Superintendent of Little Elm ISD, and Cathy Lamb, who teaches English at North Forney High School and four grandchildren; Isaac Lamb, Addyson Lamb, Abby Wilcoxson, and Hayden Wilcoxson. Lamb proudly served in the US Army for three years then received his BS degree in Kinesiology from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and coached for two years. He moved to Canton, Texas in 1985 and coached there for four years. Lamb moved to Wills Point in 1989 to coach and teach and in January of 1992 he became Head Coach and Athletic Director. In August of 1995 he became Assistant Principal of Wills Point High School and served in that position until July of 2004. Jim Lamb was then named Principal of Wills Point High School and continued in that role for twelve years until his retirement in June of 2016. Mr. Lamb is in his second term as a WPISD Board of Trustee Member. 

  • The Board of Trustees meets regularly on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the WPISD Administration Building at 338 West North Commerce St. Wills Point, TX. 75169

    NOTE: During the months of June, July, and August 2022, the Board of Trustees will meet at 5:00 pm. 

    Special meetings are called when necessary. All meetings are open to the public and are subject to provisions of Texas law.
