Mr. Cooper joined Wills Point ISD in 2023. Prior to serving in Wills Point ISD, Mr. Cooper was the Superintendent of the Corrigan-Camden ISD, which received a TEA Academic Rating of “A” for the 21-22 School Year.
Mr. Cooper, a graduate of Henderson High School in Henderson, Texas, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Development, and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. He started his career as a school bus driver and served as an Agriculture Teacher and FFA sponsor. Cooper has served as Superintendent in Kennard ISD and Garrison ISD. He is also a former High School Principal. Mr. Cooper is married to Mendi and have an 11-year-old son named Bryson.

Barbie McMath, Ed.D.- Acting Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and AccountabilityDr. Barbie McMath joined Wills Point ISD in 2016. Dr. McMath spent 12 years as a classroom teacher and 2 years as an instructional specialist prior to becoming an administrator in 2008. Dr. McMath is a graduate of Whitesboro High School in Whitesboro, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University, Master’s Degree from Lamar University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Dr. McMath believes in creating an academic culture that focuses on developing character, service, and leadership.
Dr. McMath and her husband Charlie, who is also an educator, have four children. Christy and Justin both serve in the United States Airforce. Olivia, a 2019 Wills Point High School graduate, attends Texas A&M University. Hannah, a 2021 Wills Point High School graduate, attends Texas A&M University.

Jeff Russell
Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Student ServicesJeff Russell joined Wills Point ISD in 2015. Mr. Russell spent 6 years as a teacher and coach in Irving ISD and Mansfield ISD. He accepted his first Assistant Principal position in Canton ISD in 2008, where he served at the junior high and high school levels. Upon arriving in Wills Point, he became the Assistant Principal at Wills Point Middle School, moved into the Principal role for WPMS, and for the past two years has served as Principal for Wills Point High School. Mr. Russell is extremely excited to serve the students, staff, and community of Wills Point and truly believes there are great things ahead for this outstanding district.
Mr. Russell is a graduate of Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from Dallas Baptist University, a Master’s Degree from Texas A&M at Commerce, and Superintendent Certification from The University of Texas at Tyler.
Mr. Russell and his wife, Angela, who serves as the choir director for Canton High School, have two daughters, Avery, 17 and Addyson, 14.
