This is my sixth year at Wills Point Middle school and my fourth year teaching 5th-grade reading.  I have been married for 29 years and we have two boys.  Our youngest is a student at the high school and our oldest graduated in 2014.  I have a BA in Special Education and an MS in Curriculum and Instruction.   I coach Special Olympics swimming and used to coach my youngest's, basketball team.  I enjoy swimming, reading, crocheting, painting, and playing Minecraft. 

Reading is my passion.  My oldest son has down syndrome and has struggled with reading.  I was told I needed to give up and come to terms with the fact that he would never read.  I refused to do that and I'm happy to say that his reading is measurable now.  He loves books and reading.  I believe all children have so much to give and offer the world and strive to help them know how incredible they are.  I want to make reading fun and love to help my students find books they can fall in love with.
