Mrs. Raquel Wooton

My name is Raquel Wooton and I am the Math Department Leader for this school year. I have been in education for eight years. Three of those years in education have been as a paraprofessional in Special Education in Oklahoma and Washington, one year as an Algebra 1 and Geometry teacher at Ford High School in Quinlan, Texas. This will be my fifth year at WPHS. I graduated from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts. My focus was Mathematics and Psychology. I recently graduated from Texas A&M in Commerce this Summer 2022 with a Masters in Secondary Education and I cannot wait to apply what I learned to my classroom. My certifications are Mathematics 4-8 and Mathematics 7-12. As an Army Veteran, I have had the privilege and opportunity to travel and  meet a diverse group of amazing people and experience new cultures. This school year I will be teaching Precalculus, Honors Precalculus, Honors Algebra 2 and Algebra 2. I am so excited about working with past students and new students. This is going to be a great year and I cannot wait to teach your students and learn from them as well.
