Jill Lide Parish is a 1994 graduate of Wills Point High School. She attended Wills Point ISD from 1st through 12th grade. While in high school, Jill was very active in sports, student leadership, and strong in academics. During her high school career, Jill was named Homecoming Queen, Ms. WPHS, Student Council President, and Cheerleader. After graduation, Jill attended University of North Carolina-Greensboro where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies.
What is Jill up to now? I’m the owner of JL PARISH. We create ethically sourced and locally made semi-precious and precious jewelry that’s sold throughout the country. We also raise money for local women and children transitioning out of domestic violence through our beloved Sparrow Project Collection. I oversee day to day operations, source and create all designs, curate packaging, market and sell our products in wholesale and retail outlets, handle all communication and write our Divine By Design blog. It’s a unique mix of things I’m well equipped to take on and those I learn as I go. Overall, it’s a joy to be able to do many of the things I love to do and also make a positive impact on our community.
When asked what advice she would give to today’s students, Jill said, “Put academics first and visit your counselor early on to get you set up for success in the next chapter. Whether it be trade school or a university, furthering your education is necessary and costly. With guidance from your counselor and hard work on your end, you may qualify for scholarships that could help you tremendously. Also, dream a bigger dream. You don’t have to do what your parents or your neighbors did. Find where you’re uniquely gifted and work toward something in that field. It may be science or theatre or mathematics. Whatever it is, investigate how you could continue your education in your gifting and, ultimately, your professional life.”
Jill is now married and has a beautiful young son. Her family resides in the Dallas area.
