Child Find
The Individuals with Disabilites Education Act (IDEA) includes the Child Find mandate. Child Find requires all school districts to identify, locate and evaluate all children, birth through 21 years of age, with suspected disabilities who are in need of Section 504 or Special Education services. If you suspect your child has a disability and is in need of 504 or Special Education Services, please contact the school counselor or campus administrator.
Transition
Students, parents and school staff work together to develop a transition plan for life after high school. Student interests, wants and needs are considered when developing this plan.
Transition planning should focus on these key components:
- Assessment specific to transition preferences, needs, strengths & interests
- Related Services
- Instruction
- Community Experiences
- Daily living skills
- Connecting with community agencies
