Welcome to the Wills Point ISD Technology Department!
With a vision to empower learners and leaders to positively impact the world, Wills Point ISD strives to prepare students for their future. Technology is expanding and changing the world at a rapid pace. The Technology Department is dedicated to improving academic achievement by infusing technology into teaching and learning in all areas. We work closely with the Curriculum Department to ensure technology is integrated into the classroom environment to enhance student learning. This is accomplished by putting approximately 2800 network-connected devices in the hands of teachers and students district-wide.
WPISD maintains its Children's Internet Protect Act (CIPA) compliance by providing premise-based and off-site content filtering for Chromebooks. The Technology department has also implemented a cybersecurity awareness campaign to better educate staff on how to protect their devices, district data, and personal data from email based phishing attacks.
Wills Point ISD’s robust wide area network is built on a 40 gigabit backbone with a 10 gigabit internet fiber connection. This type of network offers many opportunities for sharing information within the district as well as the community. Daily operations that are conducted across the network include Business Services, Special Education Services, Food Service, Student Information Management, Time management, Heating and Air management, Remote Technical Assistance, Video Surveillance, and Voice Over IP Services.
